Cloudy here but bright enough to be classed as a pleasant enough
winter's morning. As for the cloudy high well the forecast this
morning (with a *real* pressure chart!) indicated that once the cold
front part of the system straddling the HP had cleared though from
the NE by Monday it would be much sunnier almost everywhere.

David Braine yesterday.

He also said there would be 3-4 foot of surf.

6-8 foot at Sennen this morning, glorious blue sky, no wind, and around 12
degrees (in & out of the water).

Well, I did in my "I've got a bad feeling about that High" thread - but
I wasn't alone.

FWIW, I've been proved right so far locally - it's been dull here all
day as borne out by a recent Marham metar:

EGYM 101450Z AUTO 21007KT 6000NDV HZ OVC029/// 07/05 Q1039

Can't see it changing for a day or few - there's not a great deal of
mobility.

Hi Chris, things should improve in your neck of the woods once the weak cold
front comes through bringing a change to a clearer airmass. I remember that
thread and I didn't want to give the impression of "wall to wall" cloud in the
high. So we are both right :-)

Gorgeous day here, bit of cloud from time to time, but plenty of sun and hardly
any wind.

Day max. 8.2 deg C .

Cheers,

Will. (Haytor, Devon, 310m asl)

It's been fine here most of the day but quite cold with a maximum of 5.8C so
the milder air has not reached us. Pressure has been just over the 1040mb
mark for most of the day as well. I think it will become quite foggy later
as the dewpoint is 4C.

Hi, All,

Copley force 7 and no sun, just to go against the grain, as usual!

Wind WSW 30KT (force 7) gusting 39KT T8/DPt7

A bad day for putting the ashes out, but a good one for extinguishing
outside Christmas lights!

Best wishes

Ken Cook
