Heard the 'boom' at 0604hrs but been in Fog since then, with skies clearing
does anyone have access to current high res satellite imagery ? I'm down in Sussex about 10 miles SW of Gatwick Airport and currently (1420hrs) there is cloud ? to the North / North East moving gradually Southwards - is this some of the plume from the fire this morning or just thin St cloud ? Current METAR for EGKK (Gatwick) 1420z 210 03 8km NSC +06 +03 1038 Regards Richard |

Almost certainly the edge of the advancing smoke plume .... others have posted higher res imagery, but it is a measure of the intensity of the plume that it can be picked out on the relatively lower resolution Meteosat general purpose VIS imagery at:- http://www.metoffice.com/satpics/latest_uk_vis.jpg Martin. |

Not super-high at about 1km/pixel, but it doesn't need to be.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/h...ast/html/1.stm Sadly the Beeb have removed any time info. Mike |

We are able to see the smoke(albeit whispy) to the East and South East from Wincanton Somerset. It seems to be even drifting down towards the coast in the direction of Poole/Bournemouth |

It appears to be reaching the Coast at Bexhill now, the question being will
it reach Beachy Head by Sunset, hopefully providing some good photo opportunities. Ray "Alan Whitewick" wrote in message ...
