Default meteor seen?

Dad just let me know he saw a bright flash
and mentioned it being a meteor , it was in the sky
to the north of the m25...

Was he drinking or did anybody else see it?

A Geminid? They can be very bright.

The Perseids peak on the 13th & 14th of December.

It was cloudy at sunset, but I'll be outside again later for another look.
The moon is going to be a nuisance though.

It may well be an "Iridium Flash"..... try a search on google.......
I thought I was going mad for about 2 years (and so did the people I
explained it to)

those pesky things.....

There was a film of one a couple of days ago (from Australia?) that was
quite large and bright with a smoky tail. Also mentioned on the radio this
morning were the Geminids which should be visible for a week - assuming we
get rid of the cloud.
