Strongest gusts UK and Ireland
WeatherOnline lists the following peak gusts for Saturday 1 January.
Units are mph. UK Cranwell 73 Mumbles 68 South Uist 67 Pembrey Sands and Aberporth 66 Crosby 65 Barra 61 Ronaldsway and Waddington 60 Ireland Dublin Airport 84 Finner 78 Belmullet 71 Malin Head 70 Casement 67 Roches Point and Valentia 60 Colin Youngs Brussels |

I see why :- Cranwell reported a max wind gust of 50 Knts or 57.5mph Woodford nr Manchester reported a 56 Knt gust or 64.5mph (this not in the list) Dublin, Finner & Mumbles are correct.
