Default Telford 2005 Noteable Weather

15 miles down the road in Shrewsbury the review goes:

January: Very poor month (if you like cold Januaries) , virtually
frost-free.
February: 7 snow days but only one day of snow lying. Very
disappointing given the forecasts but at least it was reasonably dry.
Winter 04/5: Another mostly mild and boring one, apart from the snow at
Christmas.

March: A month of two halves: cold first half with some more snow (2
mornings lying); second half was often warm and sunny.
April: Had more frost than January
May: Mostly dull, quite cool and disappointing. A couple of warm days
to finish.
June: Mixed first week with some notably cool nights, then turned warm
and sunny.
Spring 05: Cooler but drier than many recent springs.

19th June: One of the best thunderstorms I've ever seen; torrential
rain and lightning for several hours with large hail.
Last 10 days had more hot weather with a few more thunderstorms. Best
June for years; probably since 1992 and a welcome change from the
frequent indifferent or downright poor Junes of the 90s and early 00s.
July: Very mixed month. Rather poor first week, then 10 days of lovely
warm sunshine. However the second half was absolutely abysmal, hardly
any sunshine and frequent maxes around 14-17C.
August: A very average month; not short on sunshine but no really hot
days. Some quite cool nights too and a few horrid rainy days.
Summer 05: Very mixed but much better than 1998, 2000, 2002 or 2004.

September: Warm to begin, then more normal temperatures. Often dry and
sunny.
October: Very mild but very dull. Major disappointment one day at the
end when almost everywhere else had warm sun and 20C temps but here it
was cloudy.
November: Two halves again; first half nasty, mild and rainy. Then a
sudden change to frosty clear weather which was most welcome. Some of
the coldest November nights for quite some time.
Autumn 05: What autumn? Just flipped from temps of 15C plus to hard
frost in a couple of days.

December: Desperately unremarkeable apart from the last 4 days which
had a taste of winter.
