Default Two consecutive sunless weeks?

Seen the strange site of a blue sky in Southampton today, after
(apparently) seven consecutive days of complete overcast.

Judging by the reports here (can't confirm, was in Cheshire at new
year) there's the possibility that this area has had almost two
consecutive weeks (Dec 29-Jan 10) with less than an hour of sun on each
day. Can anyone confirm this?

Nick
