.... very interesting: as Stephen and I noted at the time, the variation
in wind speeds were quite marked, though we were observing events
somewhat later than your marked changes 04 to 05Z.

Default Nocturnal temperature fluctuations at Wokingham

I've checked my 1 min resolution data for this period: no evidence of
any similar effect here - I suspect because the inversion was deeper
(my air temp fell a little irregularly from -2°C at midnt to below
-4°C around 0800, and was at or a little below -3°C during the
detailed portion of your graph 03-05z, about 1.5 degC below that at
Wokingham).

My 1 min mean winds were mostly between 0.5 and 2 kn 00-09z, 9 hour
average 0.8 kn. See my comments that evening in USW re the not
inconsiderable wind speed at 85 m evidenced by the Green Park wind
turbine around 0730 that morning.
