Of course Greenock in Scotland (pop 55000) trounces them with 1500-1600mm of rain and both Paisley and East Kilbride are a little wetter than the English trio. Swansea also shades Rochdale/Burnley and Bolton. -- Stuart Brooks Carluke South Lanarkshire 223m amsl highest town of its size in Scotland In the driest area for its height in western Scotland webcams at www.brooks22.plus.com/index.htm INC new high res webcam |

Swansea also shades Rochdale/Burnley and Bolton. The annual average rainfall for Buxton, Derbyshire (a full Market town, population 21,000) is around 1200 mm a year, significantly higher than Rochdale (as is its elevation above sea level). But if we start getting into towns of 20,000+, it's a new ball game altogether! ![]() Dave |
