Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net I've been looking at this 1947 section for a couple of weeks now - and indeed the charts and readings have been remarkably similar. Of course the Camden Square site, even in 1947, would have been a lot warmer than rural areas. It would be interesting to see how much warmer an identical synoptic set-up would be compared with 59 years ago! |

The current chart: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack5.html shows the North Sea about 2 degrees warmer than the "mean" then, and between 1 and 2 degrees warmer to our west and north e.g. the 5 degree isotherm near Iceland then seems to have been replaced by the 7 degree now! -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 23/01/2006 10:59:26 UTC |
