Chalfont St Giles - Wednesday 25th January 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------- 0630z N F1 3000 -SG 8St -02.4/-03.4 1027 RMK: Ppn very slight. The atmosphere smells strongly, as if there was a large chemical plant nearby. The smell is quite noticeable even indoors Norman. Martin. As you described earlier in this thread, Martin, the pollution could be tasted and caught at the back of the throat. I noticed it as soon as I got out of bed. My first thought was that there was a fault in the central heating but when I went out to the garden at about 0615z I realised that it was pollution in the air. It was certainly the worst I have experienced for very many years. With the N'ly wind starting to increase, the pollution is rapidly decreasing. Looks like we'll see breaks developing in the cloud cover soon. Norman. (delete "thisbit" twice to e-mail) -- Norman Lynagh Weather Consultancy Chalfont St Giles 85m a.s.l. England |
