Default [WR] Haytor 29/1/06 (Very dry, snow patches)

Something which everyone on this planet should be able to do.

Day Max 7.0 deg C !!!
Night Min -0.7 deg C

Amazingly despite a temperature of 7 degrees I still have a few patches of snow
left in the garden.
Also ground was frozen hard in the shade all day. Obviously due to the very low
humidity and low dewpoint. Snow mostly going through sublimation rather than
melting.

Serious windchill on the walk today up at 480m asl on the western moor above
Tavistock. Force 7 to gale force 8 with a temperature in the range 2-4 deg C and
low humidity fair took one's breath away. Despite several layers of clothing
never really got warm in that wind. Still at least the sun was out!

Now at 2000

Temp 0.8 deg C
Dewpoint -3 deg C
Ground frozen hard
30 cm earth thermometer now reading just 3.2 deg C

Will.
