BRACKNELL (TAWFIELD) 0900 NNW F2 3500 HZ 8/STSC T-024D-042 RMK: StSc~009: deliberately avoided picking one or other low cloud type - I suspect that the cloud is quite complex & morning IR pix show quite a fairly cold top; No hoar deposit - air (& most surfaces) too dry. [ OVERNIGHT DATA (18Z - 09Z): screen min: -02.5 grass min: -02.5 precipitation: NIL [24hr total: 00.0 mm] other data: An ice day for the 2nd by standard definition, 24hr maximum temperatu -00.3. Note the air & grass min. exactly the same, for the second day running.= Notes: The basic first-line format is:- [Time/GMT] [Wind direction .. compass points] [Wind speed .. Beaufort force] [Visibility .. metres / (km =10km)] [Visibility .. significant variation/direction] [Weather groups .. if any] [Cloud layers .. amount/type] [Screen temperature/T .. degrees/tenths] [Dewpoint temp/D .. degrees/tenths] [RMK .. additional/plain language information] -- Bracknell (Wooden Hill/Tawfield), Berkshire, UK NGR: SU 854 667 Elev: 80m Lat: 51° 23' 30'' N: Long: 00° 46' 28'' W |

![]() "Martin Rowley" wrote in message I suspect that the cloud is quite complex & morning IR pix show quite a fairly cold top; .... "quite a fairly cold top"!!! That's my old 'public service forecast' background coming out - sorry. Looking at the 00Z ascents, temperature of cloud top somewhere around -7, a bit lower than yesterday I think. The cloud outside now (1040Z) has more 'structure' than this time yesterday, and the visibility is better - around 4500m. OAT still well below zero though, as is the grass min. thermo. reading (-1.2).
