Default Most consecutive days over 30C?

Anyone know what this might be? A fair few in 1976 but Gravesend and around
must surely be close?

http://www.meto.gov.uk/climate/uk/in...3maxtemps.html

says: "During the hot summer of 1976, Heathrow had 16 consecutive days
over 30 °C from 23 June to 8 July, with a maximum of 34.8 °C over this
spell."

There's a more detailed report on the 1976 summer somewhere but I
can't find it.

I see Herne Bay's record was previously 32.4c from 3 Aug 1990 - which rose
to 36.5c on the 10th !

ISTM a map of isotherms(?) for last Sunday would make very interesting
viewing. Has one been drawn yet?
