Just in case anyone's missed the news, the revised Vantage Pro 2
stations are now in stock. It will probably be a couple of months before there's a full range of accessories, with wireless repeaters, in particular, not due in until March, though other accessories eg the optional anemometer wireless transmitter are already here. To recap, the VP2 stations are a limited revision of the existing VP1 stations. Although there are a few cosmetic and detail differences, the only key difference is that the VP2 wireless stations are using a distinct wireless technology which gives increased wireless range. The VP2 stations are unchanged in general accuracy and feature specifications and so existing VP1 owners have no reason to consider upgrading, except in the specific circumstance where longer wireless range or a more powerful wireless signal (eg to penetrate further into a building) might be desirable. We've yet to test the VP2 wireless range in practice but expect it now to exceed 100m clear line-of-sight. Finally, a version of the Weatherlink data logger with a native USB interface is now also available. JGD www.weatherstations.co.uk |
