St~010/012, Sc~018 (might even be the base of Ns - the 00Z Herstmonceux ascent was surprisingly moist for a long way). A thoroughly unpleasant morning - we used to get calls asking if barometers were correct in these situations, with the dial reading 'Very Dry'!= -- Bracknell (Wooden Hill/Tawfield), Berkshire, UK NGR: SU 854 667 Elev: 80m Lat: 51° 23' 30'' N: Long: 00° 46' 28'' W |

Hi Martin,
I'm rather surprised that you've not at least had some snow flakes/grains as we have had in Newbury from a couple of showers today. I can also confirm that it snowed in Woolton Hill and Thatcham, 2 miles to the west and 3 miles to the East respectively. Mind you, of course the large majority of the precipitation was drizzly bits of rain. Must have been quite sporadic. A few grains did also fall in Newbury yesterday alongside the rainy bits. Interesting. Kind Regards Tony "Martin Rowley" wrote in message ... Hi,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am situated just below the higher parts of Wash Common in Newbury and am approximately situated at 107amsl AFAIK (that's precise I suppose). I am pretty much in the suburbs of Newbury and it is often noted that when snow falls up at Wash Common, during the same event, it would be plain ole rain in the town centre. To give you an idea of how close to AMSL it gets, the town centre does have the Kennet running through it. This being the place where the dead swan was! Hoping I'm not rambling. Regards Tony Hic, Hic Finish off my Thursday tipple, roll on spring please! "Martin Rowley" m wrote in message ... However, on the ground, the Wokingham site is some 6 km, bearing 300° from us.
