Select the "radar" option, and you'll see a patch of precipitation
possibly heading towards southern England in the easterly flow. It looks
as if it will need to develop considerably if it is to produce anything
very significant, though.

2315Z image on the MetO display shows slight returns extending north into
the Shoreham area. A few flurries seem possible later but I'd be very
surprised if there's anything measurable in my locality - as per the GFS
http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rmgfs123.gif
and even that looks overcooked.

The idyllic West Country. You picked the right decade to move. After a
pleasant summer holiday there and a few others beside now you have the
winters as well.

Well my experience (2.5 years) has led me to believe the Exeter area is
probably the most benign place on the planet in terms of weather, both in
summer and winter.

Cloud tops are cooling so you may see something, Jon. I agree, who on earth
would move to Devon :-)

Bournemouth? - Full of clubs and clubbers.

Swept by vicious N wind [1], bright sun. Tolerable in shelter, otherwise
too uncomfortable to garden for very long. What's the Beaufort for whole
bare trees in motion on the gusts?

[1] Deflected by local shape of ground. Looks like Nly on topmeost bit
