Default Big River

Here in the Scottish Borders niether the wind nor the rain were exceptional,
howevr their must of been a lot of rain to the west. The following link
shows three pictures of the Tweed at the biggest I have seen it in the 20
years I have lived next to it. Although very big it is still several feet
short of its record level set in August 1948

Thanks for sharing those pictures Stuart.
I must go a jaunt down to the river Clyde tomorrow to see how it's fairing.
The Clyde and Tweed rise not so far apart in the Southern uplands of course.
Alex.

I, but the Tweed rises out of a Northern Corrie!

It isn't entirely obvious from the picture but the river on the left (The
Teviot) was by far the most dominant of the two rivers today, presumably a
lot more rain fell in the catchment area of the Tevoit than that of the
Tweed.

I always find it fascinating to observe which of these rivers is more in
spate after interesting (some call it bad) weather, it is not that unusual
for one river to run brown and the other blue!

Yes that would be excellent. Trouble is I didn't know it was going to happen
until it was happening, therefor I missed the "befores" and as for the
"afters", well its still happening, and by the time it has happened it will
of lost its spin.

I'll go out now and get a "befores" pic of my roof in case Freddy blows it
off tomorrow night!

:-)
