1000 1004mb, 6.4C, Wind 21.3mph (F5) SSW, Gust 38.6mph, Rain nil Just another breezy overcast day so far. I've definitely had enough of this wind now, I know others have had and will have it far worse, but I just want it to stop now, please. Heavy snow, falling vertically, please. Average wind speed this month 18.6mph. Total rainfall 105mm. -- Steve Loft, Wanlockhead, Dumfriesshire. 1417ft ASL http://www.wanlockhead.org.uk/weather/ Free weather softwa http://cumulus.nybbles.co.uk/ Experimental webcam: http://www.wanlockhead.org.uk/webcam.php |

After a mid-morning lull, the wind is now increasing again, currently
27mph (F6) SSE. Pressure 999mb (-3mb/hr), temp 5.8C. It's now raining, but not yet measurable - my AWS gauge is back to 1mm resolution after the wind ripped the funnel off the other day. -- Steve Loft, Wanlockhead, Dumfriesshire. 1417ft ASL http://www.wanlockhead.org.uk/weather/ Free weather softwa http://cumulus.nybbles.co.uk/ Experimental webcam: http://www.wanlockhead.org.uk/webcam.php |

The lull here was overnight, started to hear it again (ie F5) after about 0600. It the rose to a good F8 by 1300 and fell back a bit, backing since midnight WSW to 1400 SSW. Rain started about 1400 now lashing down against the windows. 993mb falling at about the same rate, temp rising 8C at 1400. Constant wind (F7) for more than 12hours does get rather wearing from the noise. At least you sometimes get a dramatic clearance and it drops to nothing (F4) in minutes. The effect is like banging your head against a brick, nice when it stops. B-) -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |
