Looks like the starm has arrived as predicted. sure has No idea about the speeds but its arrived in Argyll - power cuts already around us and the tide is incredibly high. We have a shallow tidal creek at the bottom of the field which rarely shows a white horse - they were racing in around 6 knots just before dark - very full and still another 2 hours before high tide then. Wind has really started to rattle all around the house. Going to light a few candles and turn the volume up on the telly while it lasts This is not going to be pleasant Take care folks -- regards Jill Bowis Pure bred utility chickens and ducks Housing; Equipment, Books, Videos, Gifts Herbaceous; Herb and Alpine nursery Holidays in Scotland and Wales http://www.kintaline.co.uk |

![]() "Malcolm" wrote in message ... In article , Jill. writes The inshore waters forecast for Mull of Kintyre to Ardnamurchan has actually downgraded the wind speed slightly since this morning when force 11 seemed definite. The 1700 forecast states: "southwest gale 8 to storm 10, possible violent storm 11 at first, veering west or northwest 7 to severe gale 9 on Wednesday". It's around 40-45 mph at the airport, gusting to 60-65, though Malin Head, c.50 miles away, has 53 mph, gusting to 85. The pressure here has been at 985mB for the last six hours. -- Malcolm I notice that Benbecula at 1920 was 61kt gusting to 83kt which is definitely F11. Alan |
