Following the thread recently on interpretation of NWP (specifically
German translation), I am checking the text on my site relating to EC products; as pointed out, those coming direct from the EC site are now available in a much more timely fashion than hitherto. However, on the EC site, the following text is displayed:- "These charts are updated once every 24 hours at approximately 03:00 UTC. Each chart header is labelled with the date and time when the dynamical forecast was initiated, usually 12.00 UTC the previous day (D). " Yet, the *two* runs (00Z and 12Z) are clearly available there, and this morning (Sunday), the 00Z run is displayed when I looked at 08Z. Indeed, elsewhere on the site, there is a dialog which states *when* the products are updated, relative to time of viewing ... when I looked it would imply that the run was available for public viewing around 0630Z (and for the 12Z run, presumably 1830Z). Can anyone give me a definitive timing for availability on the EC and WZ sites of these products? I cannot give you a categorical answer, but already at 6.15 pm, the EC site has the 12Z run on but WZ hasn't yet. -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 16/01/2005 18:16:14 UTC |

Slight correction - WZ has updated "SLP, 850 hPa Wind (ECMWF)" and "500 hPa (ECMWF)" but not "500hPa,SLP (WZ)" -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 16/01/2005 18:20:11 UTC |
