PERHAPS A HISTORY LESSON IS IN ORDER!?

(Seeing as I am looking at Archive.Org right now.;-) )

http://web.archive.org/web/200109190...eroutlook.com/

Quoted:

"Winter 2002
Both of our seasonal forecasting models are now pointing towards a
severe winter ahead for the UK. For the first time in years the
Siberian high looks like extending west towards the UK dragging in
bitterly cold air from Russia for much of January. South East England
is likely to have its first heavy snowfall for several years. More
soon.
Issued 18/09"

Yes, I KNOW now that Brian and I have made amends and talked this
through, but this remains a good example of how *not* to do a "winter"
forecast - with various others from the likes of Tom Presutti and Gavin
Partridge more or less THE SAME. THE SAME!

Speaking of which, where is Tom? We've got some archive searching to
do.;-)

No, seriously, We do.

Regards,
D.

Look mate you think you have got problems! Damn thing but I have
defined it and long may it perish. Unfortunately it shows signs of
becoming ever more dominant.
I don't wish to go into the dynamics of the thing - but it has killed
many a winter over the past 50 years.
Cheers

Default Heavy Snow for England coming Friday night?

Is it true that you won't forecast a cold winter again due to global
warming?

This is exceptionally disturbing. Such theories would get you lynched
or exiled in Eastern Europe. There, rain, and other capitalist
ideologies, are not tolerated.

Sorry, but I'm having a bad night this evening. The association of
"Bartlett" with "High", "1998", "2002", and "dreams", is doing my head
in.

But I am not taking it out on you. The Weather Outlook forum people are
prepared to tolerate Codge, Pablito, and other such trolls, but not
someone who just wants a thing called justice.
