A different, but in some ways related group, will appear when the "Will it Won't it?" questions start regarding summer thunderstorms. Somehow, I can't help thinking these people would be *much* happier living in the Midwest of the USA. |

Most of the long standing and frequent posters to the group were moved to do so because of their interest in more unusual weather. As snow in the UK falls in to that category and probably the majority on here like snowy weather it is fairly predictable. Dave, S.Essex, interestingly -3.8C last night, 4th coldest night of the winter. P.S. If I ever get more than 15mm of rain in one go I will be posting that as well! |

Storms that develop in the nearby Alps and usually a good dose of snow in winter. I was lucky enough to get caught in one of those summer storms. Went completely black as night by 6pm in September, torrential rain and gusty winds. Unfortunately however two people died in that storm (cause unknown) and my good friend from schooldays has reported copious amounts of snow this month. Add to that bratwurst, weissbier and remarkable amount of talent (ahem) and it's a recipe for a good lifestyle. Hence I'm out there once or twice a year! Richard |
