Default Today's model interpretation (30/03/06)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Monday. Issued 0535z,
30 Mar 06.

The runs are mixed today, with GFS keen to bring some very unsettled weather
over the UK. The others show a col or a ridge to the west with more settled
weather as a result. As ever, more runs are needed.

ECMWF: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Recm1201.gif
A mixture of northerlies and NW'lies covers the UK, with high pressure to
the west. The high remains in situ at T+144 with a ridge atop the UK. Winds
are northerlies or NW'lies over Scotland and Northern Ireland, with NE'lies
or easterlies elsewhere. By T+168 NNE'lies cover the whole of the UK as the
high sinks SSW'wards.

MetO: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rukm1201.gif
A col and light winds cover much of the UK, although brisk SE'lies are
affecting SW England.

GFS: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rtavn1201.png
Low pressure lies to the WSW, bringing southerlies and SE'lies over the UK.
The low deepens over the English Channel at T+144, resulting in strong to
gale force easterlies over much of the UK and by day 7 the winds become
northerlies and NW'lies as the low moves over the North Sea.

The Canadian run shows a col and light winds as a result.

JMA: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rjma1201.gif
Unavailable again.

NOGAPS: http://217.160.75.104/pics/ngp10.prp.120.europeg.gif
NGP brings light northerlies across the UK with a ridge to the west.
