================================================== ==============================
=== This forecast represents the *PERSONAL OPINION* of the Chief forecaster at the privately run Haytor meteorological office in Devon on how the weather may unfold next week. The Chief forecaster will take no responsibility whatsoever for any actions arising from its use. It is provided freely in the spirit of freedom and the great love for meteorology that we personally enjoy and wish to share freely with others. ================================================== ============================== === Summary valid for Sunday 09/04/06 to Saturday 15/04/06/ TOI (time of issue) Thursday 06/04/06 0930 UK local time This summary is based on a quick appraisal of the GFS, JMA, ECMWF, UKMO, FAX, and ENS (NCEP ensemble) labelled charts available from the superb http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten High confidence for some more rain in the north next week but a lot of dry weather in the south. Increasing confidence for a mainly dry Easter but with frost at night. On Sunday a cold northerly airflow with moderate to fresh winds will continue to bring showers into northern and western areas. Showers wintry over hills with hail at low levels. More sunshine further west, especially in the SW where winds will be lighter. Another frost on Sunday night. On Monday wintry showers in the SE will die out and then all areas will become mainly dry with lighter winds and spells of sunshine. Temperatures around normal. Another frost in the south on Monday night but westerly winds will freshen in the north raising temperatures. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday a deep low near Iceland will move slowly east to the north of Britain, bringing rain followed by showers in fresh to strong westerly winds, later veering northwesterly on Thursday turning the showers wintry again in the north. However, southern Britain is likely to see little in the way of rain and will stay mainly dry in this period with spells of sunshine. Rather warm in the south with temperatures near normal in the north. Frost returning in the north on Thursday night. The outlook for the Easter weekend is for an anticyclone to edge in from the west bringing light winds and spells of sunshine. Some showers likely in the east on Friday. Temperatures around normal but with a risk of frost at night. Moderate confidence.
