'average'.

I've been away walking on and around Dartmoor for the last 2 days. It
was interesting to note that the high moor (400 m) was relatively wet,
whilst the lower ground was extremely dry for the time of year. I was
pleased that the forecasts have not been so accurate for this part of
the world during the last 2 days. We ended up having two delightful
days of mild, dry weather. It was also interesting to note that 400m
the landscape stills looks very wintry. The grass is still brown, no
signs of *any* green growth as yet. The complete opposite in the balmy
South Hams where everything is greening up nicely and growing strongly.
Even some of the oak trees are now bursting bud. I could feed the whole
of Dartington on what is now available in the greenhouse!
