uk.sci.weather (UK Weather) (uk.sci.weather) For the discussion of daily weather events, chiefly affecting the UK and adjacent parts of Europe, both past and predicted. The discussion is open to all, but contributions on a practical scientific level are encouraged.

Default "Yellow Dust Cloud Hits East Coast"

Perhaps this is the reason for the strange dust deposits that have been
reported here (Copley dust thread) over the last few days. Seems that
the Met Office believe it to be pollen from Scandinavia and eastern Europe:

I dunno about it being birch pollen - I reckon it's 'fall-out' from all
those oilseed rape fields

I waited an hour after ITV advertised they would be dusgusting it.
Damned oafs just lost a viewer.

It turned out that no one knows aught about it worth a damn. Yellow
dust from green cloud wasn't even explained. Donkeys! I want to
introduce a news religious practice to replace the Sunday observation.

Each week the most useless journalist should be kicked in the
testicles. And the director or whatever, supplying the most stupid,
pointless story to him should be the one to deliver the kick.
