231200 GFS products after T=228. Sheer joy and bliss. An easterly
block and deep cold air over UK. Well worth making a copy of.
Won't happen though - but then my dreams are often disappointing in
practice.
Cheers

12Z EC once again emphasising a block over those parts. This is the first
GFS run that has had similarities to EC, with regards to the Scandinavian
block.

;-)

Interestingly, Paul, I was just wondering if you bought into the 2002
winter being "a repeat of 1947" crap that The Weather Outlook lobby
came out with?

Will:

Yes, it's still looking quite good for your forecast for next weekend,
William. I sincerely do hope that it comes off.:-)

(No, I WON'T hold you responsible IF it DOESN'T come off entirely as
you intend it to. At least either don't come out with or otherwise have
just learned from such fiascos as 2002. I just can't go on to tell you
about how excited I was for that coming winter... and all for NOTHING,
too.)

NEVER forget.

Will, Why am I so cynical? These blocking situations are always
difficult for the machinery to handle. I didn't mean to take the micky
out of model output, but there must still be a place for common sense.
This evening of course the output is different.
By the way I had a trace of snow lying this morning - soon thawed of
course. Yes I did forecast it.
Regards
Paul

Whilst I, by comparison, had NONE(!) - and the local Look North
forecast was hardly that inspiring either earlier on this evening :-( -
, I just have to ask:

Were these so-called "snows" YOUR DREAMS???

MY DREAMS HAVE BEEN FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET!!!:-( :-( :-(
