For those that use the Wetterzentrale site to view the GFS ensemble
plumes (e.g..... http://85.214.49.20/wz/pics/MT8_London_ens.png ) note that a change has been made very recently (?yesterday?) whereby the CONTROL run is now shown (blue line), rather than the operational run. The control run will be at a lower resolution than the operational, and I'm not sure what the worth of this change is: it is better to see how the ensembles agree (or not) with the main output we see on the Internet, rather than relate it to a lower resolution run for which we can't see any output. I'll change the guide at:- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/booty.w...NS_diagram.htm to reflect this alteration when I get time (& provided this change is permanent). Martin. -- FAQ & Glossary for uk.sci.weather at:- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/booty.weather/uswfaqfr.htm and http://booty.org.uk/booty.weather/metindex.htm |
