Temp been at 1.4C most of the evening. A large number of mainly rain
showers, quite heavy at times and freezing on contact with some parts of the ground, cars etc. This is in contrast to this afternoon when we had a heavy snow shower with an air temp of 3.4C, albeit falling to about 1.8C quite rapidly. I know about evaporative cooling but I imagine tonight there is also some warmer air at higher levels. Forecasting snow is a precarious business. Dave, S.Essex P.S if these conditions are widespread take care in the morning - the pavements here were like an ice rink. |
