Default Today's model interpretation (8/06/06)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Monday. Issued 0533z,
8 June 06.

The models show a generally settled and warm start to the week, although
there are signs of a trough moving in from the SW by the middle of the week.

ECMWF: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Recm1201.gif
A large high lies to the NE with low pressure to the west. Winds are
southerlies for many areas, with SE'lies for SE England. A mixture of
southerlies and SW'lies covers the UK at T+144 as the low to the west fills
and drifts northwards. By T+168 a ridge covers the Irish Sea, bringing a
mixture of westerlies and NW'lies.

MetO: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rukm1201.gif
SE'lies cover the UK, again with a high to the NE.

GFS: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rtavn1201.png
A ridge and light winds cover the UK. High pressure builds over Scotland at
T+144 with warm easterlies elsewhere and by day 7 the high drifts over the
North Sea, leaving behind a mixture of easterlies and SE'lies for the UK.

GEM: http://meteocentre.com/models/glb00_120.html
Unavailable today.

JMA: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run, shows SE'lies for England and southerlies elsewhere due to
a high to the east. A trough moves northwards over the UK at T+144,
resulting in westerlies for southern England and southerlies or SSE'lies for
the rest of the UK.

NOGAPS: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rngp1201.gif
NGP brings a ridge over the UK with southerlies and SE'lies as a result.
