Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find some source for downloading raw weather information that I can then upload into a database and write custom scripts and reports based on. I can do the scripting, but I've yet to find anyplace which offers this information other then fancy websites like weather.com. I also have seen that NOAA has weather data available via their FTP site, but I haven't found current conditions, which is what I want. Any suggestions? I'd love to have just a comma delimited file I can download with current temperature, humidity, and so forth say every 30 minutes or so. Does such a service exist? Firefox has a weather app called Forecastfox which hits accuweather to get it's info, but even after peaking into the source code I can't find how it gets its weather. Last resort I"ll write some script to hit NOAA or Weather Underground and get the data from the HTML file, but that's a pain to do. Thanks for any suggestions or ideas ... Alex |
