Default Vantage pro solar sensor and blackbird

Hi
I have a problem with a resident blackbird that has decided that the
mounting bracket for the sunshine sensor is quite handy for singing it's
song and claiming it's territory. Unfortunately I feel that after 6 months
of use the sensor may have become soiled and dirty. I am recording lower
levels of energy than May and this should not be the case. It is my
intention to clean this weekend. What should I use?

If there are any ornotholiogists among you I hope to hear from you on a
humane remedy for the blackbird. He's quite a chirpy fellow and I would miss
his song, but my weather equipment must come first

Thanks
Rob

Water with drop of washing up liquid and small amount of elbow grease
applied by soft cloth?

Normal way to keep birds of is soft spikes about 3" long spaced at about
1 1/2" for a Blackbird sized bird I would have thought. A few cable ties
tight around the arm with the untrimed part sticking upwards?

Thanks Dave
Your idea of cable ties sounds a good one!
