Default Today's model interpretation (11/06/06)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Thursday. Issued
0532z, 11 June 06.

The models generally show a settled (and warm) end to the week for England
and Wales, with more in the way of wind, cloud and possibly rain for
Northern Ireland and Scotland.

ECMWF: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Recm1201.gif
A ridge covers Ireland, bringing NW'lies to England, Wales and SE Scotland.
Elsewhere winds are WSW'lies, but by T+144 they fall light as a ridge
declines over the UK. There's little change for most at T+168, although a
NE'ly breeze picks up over the far south of England.

MetO: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rukm1201.gif
Light winds cover England and Wales due to high pressure. Scotland and
Northern Ireland are affected by SW'lies.

GFS: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rtavn1201.png
England, Northern Ireland and Wales lie under a ridge with light winds;
Scotland is affected by SW'lies. A col brings light winds for all at T+144
and by day 7 a ridge covers Ireland with a trough over eastern Scotland and
eastern England. Winds are NW'lies for many areas, with variable winds for
eastern places.

Unavailable today.

JMA: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run brings a ridge across England and Wales with SW'lies
elsewhere. There's little change at T+144.

NOGAPS: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rngp1201.gif
High pressure is centred over the North Sea, resulting in southerlies for
Scotland and ESE'lies elsewhere.
