Ping Waghorne / Joe / etc etc.... les I think that's fair enough, the dynamical set up seems much more favourable today, whereas y'day deep convection failed to trigger over eastern England despite favourable thermodynamics. I spose a tornado might be possible where interaction with a sea breeze boundary occurs, most likely in the E/NE? Caveat on the GFS CAPE given high/medium level cloud. A point not mentioned -central southern England will be under the right entance of the jet so the severe risk area cld extend W/SW of London later in the day? regards, David |

Looking at the 06Z satellite imagery and the sky in SE London (7/8 dense As) I wonder if this cloud, debris from France and the west, is going to reduce the potential. Are the high surface temperatures gonna be achieved except in a few places in the far east ? Initiation might be possible where there are holes in the overcast. However, there's a big cluster of storms in Biscay which shld move into southern England later, D |
