Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Friday. Issued 0541z,
12 June 06. It'll be largely settled and warm (if not hot) across much of the UK towards the weekend, with a risk of unsettled conditions moving up from the south by the start of next week. ECMWF: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Recm1201.gif High pressure is centred over the North Sea, leading to easterlies for England and Wales, with southerlies or SSW'lies elsewhere. The high declines in situ at T+144 with little change in the winds over the UK. By T+168 a slack low covers France with easterlies for all. MetO: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rukm1201.gif As with ECM, high pressure lies to the east, again with easterlies for England and Wales and southerlies for Scotland and Northern Ireland. The high transfers northwards at T+144, dragging some hot SE'lies over the UK. GFS: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rtavn1201.png Easterlies and SE'lies cover the UK with high pressure over the North Sea. Easterlies push further northwards over the UK at T+144 as pressure falls over France. By T+168 low pressure is centred to the south of Ireland, leading to SE'lies across the UK. GEM: http://meteocentre.com/models/glb00_120.html The UK lies under a high with light winds. JMA: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run shows light winds for all with a high over the UK. NOGAPS: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rngp1201.gif NOGAPS also shows high pressure over the UK, with the exception of NW Scotland (which lies under SW'lies). |
