Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Saturday. Issued
0536z, 13 June 06. The models are showing a less settled outlook than of late, with low pressure likely to move up from the south for the first half of next week. This would potentially bring rain almost anywhere. Temperatures look like dropping closer to average for a time as well. ECMWF: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Recm1201.gif High pressure covers the North Sea with easterlies and SE'lies as a result. THe winds become ESE'lies at T+144 as the high moves NE'wards and low pressure deepens to the SW. There's little change at T+168. MetO: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rukm1201.gif The UK lies under a slack low with light westerlies across England and Wales. The low sinks SE'wards at T+144, bringing further easterlies for many areas and NW'lies for SW England. GFS: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rtavn1201.png A slack trough covers the UK with light winds for all. A ridge brings light winds to Scotland at T+144 and the trough moves SE'wards over England and Wales. Day 7 sees the ridge move slowly SE'wards to bring SW'lies to Scotland and Northern Ireland with northerlies elsewhere. GEM: http://meteocentre.com/models/glb00_120.html The Canadian run brings a trough over Ireland and southerlies across the UK. JMA: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rjma1201.gif A mixture of SE'lies and ESE'lies covers the UK with high pressure over the North Sea. Winds strengthen from the east at T+144 as pressure falls to the south. NOGAPS: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rngp1201.gif A ridge covers the UK with light winds for all. |
