Wow George, that's a lot of rain. Typically, our storm gave only 3mm this

Most notable convective downpour here since June 1993 but well short of the
59mm from one storm in July 1987. Large raindrops as well (high
electrostatic charge?).
Oh yes..I'd just arrived home with a new water butt so I left it out to fill
as I fled the cold downpour. (Bought the water butt from local builder's
merchants having given up on Three Valleys and their offer)

We missed it at Southend-on-Sea, however 4.4mm this morning.
