Default Today's model interpretation (21/06/06)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Sunday. Issued 0531z,
21 June 06.

The models show conditions becoming increasingly settled and warm for
England and Wales for the first half of next week, with more in the way of
cloud for Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Northerlies and NNE'lies cover the UK with a ridge to the west. The ridge
topples over the UK at T+144 bringing light winds for most. The exception is
northern Scotland which lies under westerlies. Westerlies push southwards
across Scotland and Northern Ireland at T+168 while winds remain light
elsewhere.

The MetO run shows a ridge atop the UK with light winds for most.

GFS: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rtavn1201.png
A trough covers Scotland with NW'lies there and across Northern Ireland.
Elsewhere winds are westerlies, followed by much lighter westerlies as
pressure builds at T+144. Pressure continues to rise over England and Wales
at T+168 with SW'lies elsewhere.

GEM: http://meteocentre.com/models/glb00_120.html
The UK lies between a ridge to the SW and a low to the ENE with NW'lies for
all as a result.

JMA: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run shows a ridge over England and Wales with SW'lies
elsewhere.

NOGAPS: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rngp1201.gif
A mixture of northerlies and NW'lies covers the UK due to a weak trough over
Scotland.
