Default Warm in Murmansk

May be cold here but temperature today upto 78F (25.5C) in Murmansk
which is in the Arctic circle (69 degrees N). Looking at GFS the 564
thickness is just about on them.

Interesting. Is this heat unusual for them? My g/f took convoys up
there and I recall he once said it was a pretty grim place. I believe
he once had to go down by train to Moscow as the place got iced up in
winter, but I have no way of checking that.

Average July max is 16C so I suppose it's no more above average than some of
the max's above average we get. Would have average temps below zero most of
the winter.
