.... that is deliberate, hence the 'via': at the time I put this entry in
the FAQ (over 4 years ago), the MO were refashioning the web site, and I
didn't want to have to chase links about. I understand that further
changes are in the pipeline, so I'm happy with the text as it stands.

.... On this subject, the *second* link shows the *correct* depiction of
the sea areas; it is a facsimile of the maps we used on the Shipping
bench and complies with the relevant WMO & allied marine safety agency
publications, and if you compare the two, you will see that the
web-version on the Met Office site is wrong in several places, most
notably sea area Thames & FitzRoy. There are numerous poor
representations of the boundaries on the so-called 'official' site, and
I am seriously thinking of removing the link to avoid any confusion;
they have been told (several months ago), but not much seems to get
through these days ;-(
