RMK: 8Ns015/020 .. one of those rare occasions when I think I can
observe Nimbostratus and nothing else - uniform base and rain bucketing
down! It's been raining steadily here, mainly moderate, since 1230Z: all
buckets, water butts etc., nicely full ;-) =

Martin,
5mm of rain here and the butts are approx half full. I guess it takes 10mm
to fill a 210litre butt.

Looks like the other half will be filled at the weekend!

It turned surprisingly warm & muggy in Penzance briefly this afternoon.
The sun broke through & the temperature rose, very locally, to an
unexpected 19.1C. The result being a sea breeze & the torrential rain
early this evening.

Now foggy, & still raining steadily

Graham
Penzance

How big is the surface area that you draw from, Phil ? I feel a formula
could be created here...

.... having spent the last couple of weeks laboriously using washing-up
water to water the garden via a series of buckets strategically placed
around the garage and outside, I took great delight in drawing off water
from the butts today and now have said buckets full of rain-water all
over the place! Looking at the ENS output for the London grid-point at:-

I'm hoping we can eke out the collection until the beginning of July!

Martin.
