Default Surrey rain - hooray

Measured 7.7 mm overnight and it is now (1320Z) raining again,
moderate bordering on heavy, and practically windless. Even so the
monthly total to this morning was only 21.3 mm and when this lot clears
I can't see much more rain in the next week.

Still, at least almost 8mm of rain will be most appreciated by plants
and trees. And those strange people who think a green lawn is necessary
for a large ego will not need to waste precious water for a few days.

May I suggest a thank-you note to the people who organise Wimbledon? The
"tennis curse" still works :-)

Hooray indeed - ended up with 7mm here. Now up to 14 mm for June. Filled
water butts and will probably get away with another day with no watering to
be done. (Not the lawn, that never gets watered).

Exactly. When I used to live in suburbia it used to be so sad to see people
spending precious time at weekends watering lawn patches and polishing and
waxing cars just to keep up appearances, me, I used to go for a walk and sod it!

Will (rebel at heart).
