Today's one of those rare days that brings back memories of cold winters
past. The temperature's 2.4C at the moment, with a high so far of 3.3C and a
gentle NE'ly breeze adding to the wintry feel.

More unusually there's been a recent shower of light snow / sleety stuff,
tiny flakes in the main and I remember from my youth that this stuff,
whatever it is, rarely if ever settles. It doesn't show up on the radar
either, presumably because it's coming from shallow clouds...

Same here - temperature 3.2C and almost constant wintry showers
(snow/sleet/etc.). Just about to venture outside in this "bitter" weather

Well up here in the frozen wastes, it is a mainly cloudy and dry 6
degrees, with a northerly F3. Is it safe to got out in such weather ?

Gorgeous up here just now
The sun is shining and the breeze is light
Long may it last
Shame the ground has thawed as we can't get on it with a machine again and
its greasy but we are enjoying this respite

So glad you posted this Darren, as I was about to post an almost identical
thread. In Southend early this afternoon there was that lovely fresh dryness
in the air. I could have sworn the wind had a touch of East in it as well,
as it gusted with the passing clouds. No snow showers while I was there
though. Back home, only 15 miles or so inland it has been similar, maxing at
4.1C. Hoping for a proper frost tonight to end one of the better types of
winter days.

Cheers, Dave
