Default Continental cold in Brussels

Brussels on Wednesday 26 January

Rather cloudy for most of the morning - broken low Sc. Somewhat less cloud
with sunny intervals for a time until mid-afternoon but cloudier again
towards dusk. Moderate NE wind fell light in the afternoon. Very cold -
a freezing day.

On a more personal note - I am happy to say that my mother's hip replacement
operation was a success and that she is now convalescing.

Brussels Uccle -0.1°C - overnight minimum -3.1°C.
Brussels Airport -0.5°C - overnight minimum -3.0°C.

Pleased to here that, Colin. From the experiences of two relatives and
friends I know of who have had the operation recently, the period of
convalescence appears to have reduced markedly of late. The wife of a
friend of mine had the op. just before Xmas and she's now been back on her
feet for quite a while.

Trust everything continues to go well.

Regards,

- Tom.
