Default Today's model interpretation (11/07/06)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Saturday. Issued
0543z, 11 July 06.

High pressure will be centred to the ENE during the weekend, with ENE'lies
or NE'lies likely over England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland will
see southerlies or SE'lies. Temperatures will be on the warm side for many
areas, especially sheltered western areas, whereas areas exposed to the wind
coming in from the North Sea will see temperatures several degrees lower.

ECMWF: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Recm1201.gif
A large high covers southern Norway and the North Sea, leading to easterlies
for England and Wales with southerlies elsewhere. The high declines and
moves NE'wards at T+144 with further easterlies for England and Wales.
Elsewhere winds become lighter SE'lies (Scotland) or near calm (Northern
Ireland). A new ridge builds to the west at T+168, bringing ENE'lies and
NE'lies for the UK.

MetO: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rukm1201.gif
Scotland and Northern Ireland lie under light southerlies and SE'lies
respectively, with NE'lies across much of England and Wales. High pressure
persists over the North Sea at T+144, with ENE'lies for England and Wales as
a result; elsewhere winds are SE'lies.

GFS: http://217.160.75.104/pics/Rtavn1201.png
A mixture of ENE'lies and SSE'lies covers the UK with high pressure over the
North Sea. The high recentres over the UK at T+144 with light winds for all
and apart from a slight decline in pressure there's little change at T+168.

The Canadian run also shows ENE'lies and SSE'lies, again with a high over
the North Sea.

JMA: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run brings a ridge across the UK, with ENE'lies for southern
England and SW'lies for central and northern Scotland.

NOGAPS: http://85.214.49.20/pics/Rngp1201.gif
NOGAPS places high pressure over the North Sea, once again leading to
ENE'lies for England and Wales with SSW'lies elsewhere.
