Day max. yesterday 22.1 deg C
Night min 11.0 deg C Fantastic weather, everyone is smiling :-) Oh yes! This is what summer's all about. We went for a walk along the beach late yesterday evening and the weather was more like the conditions I've experienced in the Med; warm, humid and not a breath of wind. A late swim was too good to miss. Reached 25.9C here yesterday. I reckon that will easily be beaten today, even with a sea breeze. The sea is so warm now that if a breeze does occur then it seems to have less an effect on reducing the temperature. Methinks another dip in that there briny is called for. ________________ Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 80 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

Almost calm conditions in the Bay this morning, just a very light off shore ENE. As a result the temperature had already reached 24.8C by noon. It may turn out to be the hottest day of the year here today (Current hottest day this year 26.2C on 2nd July). The winds coming right down the spine of the peninsula, so it's only really exposed headlands that are getting any cooling affect. Also I think the airs too stable for much of a south coast sea breeze to develop. Graham Penzance |

27.5C here at 13:05. Easily beating yesterday. It needs to go as high as
29.5C (3rd July) to beat my current record high this year. It will surely do this later in the week. Peter Gibbs on the CF Forecast said that the July record of 36C is in danger of being broken this coming week. The wind is from the NE, so the sea breeze has failed today. Off to the beach for a cool swim. Currently at 13:10, 27.6C, RH 48%, DP 14.7C, 1027 mb (S), Wind 6.0 mph NE. ________________ Nick G Otter Valley Nr Sidmouth, Devon 80 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
