My WMR928 external sensor is reading around 33 degrees on it's pole in the
air, whilst my add on sensor under a tree is a couple of degrees cooler. I realise temperature is supposed to be read in the shade, but is my WMR928 dome shielding the sensor correctly or should that be in the shade as well to avoid radiation and the greenhouse effect in the head of the dome???? |

The cover on the WMR928 temperature sensor definitely doesn't give enough shielding from the sun on its own. At my previous house I installed it during the autumn, and the following summer the sun was in a position to fall on it in the morning - when it did, the reading soared. -- Steve Loft, Glenlivet. 200m ASL Weather and webcam: http://www.livet.org.uk/weather |

Not the done thing I know but as I am not an official recorder it definitely seems to help. A bit of fun plus of course it only runs when there is intense radiation on the screen! Dave |
