Default Pan-European weather radar feed?

Peter wrote:
I am a private pilot, and have seen the weather radar feed provided
(as a paid for service) by the UK Met Office and also Avbrief.

There is a German company called MT which sells a hardware product
(basically a tablet computer with GPRS) which is connected into some
sort of pan-European weather radar feed. But I have not seen anybody
else offer such data.

I have started looking around to see if this sort of thing is
available, perhaps piecemeal, from elsewhere.

There is this free site which offers a radar image

http://www.buienradar.nl/home.aspx?r...soort=loop1uur

which covers the Netherlands plus a huge chunk of the surrounding
area. Does anyone know of any others?

Today I have found this "stormscope" page

http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/live_storm_data.htm

which is not real radar and, having been flying behind a WX500
stormscope, I know the difference, but it's very useful data all the
same.

There are lots of other sites, all operating the same StormVue product
and putting it on a web server. No doubt there are many of these
around Europe. Does anyone have a list of links, or know of some way
to google for them?

For example there is a way to locate webcams (of a specific brand e.g.
AXIS) using suitable google keywords; I had a ref somewhere but have
lost it.

But this is a "sferics" product, not weather radar. Getting back to
the original Q, does anyone know of a pan-European radar feed?

You might find the following website of interest: www.chmi.cz/OPERA but
there is not yet any individual product covering the whole of Europe.

If you have Google Earth installed you could download my network link which
overlays radar data from across the world.

Joe

Didn't work for me either.

That's because it flipped over to page 6 on the forum. It is on the Dynamic
Data Layers forum, last post 29/05/06, currently on page 6 (when viewing 10
per page)
