With the highest tides for 10 years predicted this weekend in some
areas and low pressure to the east giving strong to galeforce gusts down the east coast flooding could be significant. Whitby could be more than 3 meters above normal high tide. During the autumn there are even higher tides predicted and if we get a deep low in the North Sea at that time we could be looking at a 1953 scenario, will the coastal defences cope?
