Good evening, everyone.
A *proper* heatwave is in cards for Greece as of Friday, as the Sahara is expected to unleash its power in full force towards southern Italy, the Ionian sea and Greece. With 1000/500 thickness just over 582 dam and temperatures at 850 hPa hovering around +28C, we're well into some 41-42C, possibly local +43C readings on Sunday and Monday, before the heatwave gives place to cooler air masses from the northwest. Gladly, the etesians will be giving a fresher sense over the Aegean and parts of eastern continental Greece as per usual -but not on Monday, which should be the worst day for Athens, too. Here's to this year's heatwave! Yannis, SE Athens +28.8C, RH 32%, SLP 1010.0 hPa http://www.e-kairos.com/terpsithea |
